BECOMING RESTLESS

BECOMING RESTLESS  MEMORY VERSE: - Genesis 27:40 - “By your sword you shall live, and you shall serve your brother: But it shall come about when you become restless, that you will break his yoke from your neck”. When we are talking about restlessness, we are not talking about being worried or anxious but are dealing with not being comfortable with any unpleasant condition in your life and around you. We are saying we should not settle for the less, we must be irritated and be discontented with mediocre kind of life. We must have a persistent desire for change or for a better life and push towards its goal.  We were told in the scripture that after Jacob had taken Esau’s blessing, that Esau wept bitterly. Why was that? Because he knew he had lost a very valuable thing that could have made his journey of life easy and fruitful. However, his father Isaac told him that there is a way out and that way is in the place of restlessness and breaking of yokes. He must become restless w...

NOW IS YOUR MOMENT

Image
NOW IS YOUR MOMENT MEMORY VERSE: - John 11:21-24, "Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day" A lot of people pray but do not believe they can have their request answer immediately. The mindset of future has kept them from embracing that which is theirs at the moment. Thus, they neglect the place of faith in our today’s experience.  While Martha could only think of the future as the only time her brother could rise again from the dead, Jesus was seeing it happening in the moment. It's time to wake up and begin to walk in the faith of now. What is now? It means at the present time or moment. it is right now. The word now, is also used in conversation, to draw attention to a particular statement or point i...

THE UNFAILING PROMISES

Image
THE UNFAILING PROMISES  MEMORY VERSE: - Luke 2:29-30 - "Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people".  Every promise of God is not made to remain a promise but to be made manifest at the appointed time. It is expected that we have them live in our lives. The promises are for our benefit in this life so it's important we receive them while we have our breath in us and when it will be meaningful and impactful and useful to us. God's promises can never fail, He always fulfills His promise. Search the scripture and you will see that God fulfills His promises. In Joshua 21:45 we are told that all the promises he made with his people in the ancient Jews, none was left out. They were all fulfilled. "Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled....

QUENCH NOT THE SPIRIT

Image
QUENCH NOT THE SPIRIT MEMORY VERSE: - 1 Thessalonians 5:19 - “Do not quench the Spirit" The Greek word for “ Quench ” is " SBENNUMI " which means “to extinguish” or “to put out.” The word was used to refer to putting out fires, sparks, or the putting out of a lamp. Now, Paul in the text above is advising us not to put out the sparks of the Holy Spirit in us. There are several ways through which the believer can quench the Spirit and one of those is prayerlessness. Many are too weak in prayer, they prefer others to pray for them rather than doing it themselves. Prayer is fellowship, it is communion, it is that special moment we discuss with God. Moreover, prayer is the weapon of our warfare through which we deal with things that come to trouble us. We are to pray at all times, whether we feel like it or not. Even as Paul told us, "Pray without ceasing" 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Child of God, we must keep the Flem of the fellowship of the Holy Spirit burning, we m...

THE CHOSEN VESSEL PT 6

THE CHOSEN VESSEL PT 6 MEMORY VERSE: - 2 Timothy 2:20-21 - "But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour , sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work." Now, our text made us to understand that not every vessel that is found in a great house is right and can be of use by the master of the house. Some vessels are useless as a result, they are valueless and unimportant. Whilst some are very useful thus, they are valuable and of uttermost importance.  Therefore, there's room for growth and excellence..... It's not enough to be a chosen vessel but to become a vessel of honour, a vessel that God can be proud of, a vessel made ready for the master's use. You must understand that things do not just happen, people make them happen. As a result, one must work ...

If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified , and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work." Furthermore if you want to be a chosen vessel, you need to drop off your tradition. I hear some believers say things like 'This is how we do it in my family, this is how we do it in my place or in my village'.... You can't be actively doing bids of your tradition and want to be God's chosen vessel, it will not work. Jesus says, "you nullify the word of God by your traditions" ( Mark 7:13 ). As a child of God, you are separated from every form of humanistic traditions because mixing the traditions of men and Christianity is serving two masters and certainly, you can't serve two mast...

THE CHOSEN VESSEL PT 4 MEMORY VERSE: - 2 Timothy 2:20-21 - "But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work." Beloved, understand that in this kingdom we die to live. Until you come to the end of yourself, you can never live the kingdom life. You must die to your ways, die to your self-will, die to your mindset, die to your bad attitude. In John 12:24 Jesus said, "I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone [just one grain, never more]. But if it dies, it produces much grain and yields a harvest." (AMP) . You can never access your full scope of divine assignment in this world unless you die to things that are resistant to your achieving them. ...

THE CHOSEN VESSEL PT 3 MEMORY VERSE: - 2 Timothy 2:20-21 - "But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work." Upon consecration of themselves, the children of Israel were assured of enjoying God’s blessings. The Lord promised that He would do amazing things among them (See Joshua 3:5). Therefore, consecrating ourselves also benefits us in a great way. Someone might say, the believer does not need to be consecrated because Jesus has consecrated himself for us. Child of God, listen, Jesus consecration did not in any way stop our consecration. In John 17:19 Jesus said, "I’m consecrating myself for their sakes So they’ll be truth-consecrated in their mission" (MSG). By consecrating himself, Jesus showed us that w...

AbayeLiz Daily Inspirational  THE CHOSEN VESSEL PT 2 MEMORY VERSE: - 2 Timothy 2:20-21 - "But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver , but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work." In part 1 of this series we saw what it means to be chosen and what a vessel is. Now, let us bring the two words together, 'CHOSEN VESSEL' To become a chosen vessel is not for those who mess around or violate their vessel.  It is not entered into by being religious, it is not entered into by your looks or by physical appearance but it is entered into by:  1. CONSECRATION Joshua 3:5 says, "Then Joshua said to the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” (ESV). They had to make themselves ready for the Lord by purging, cleansing,...

THE CHOSEN VESSEL PT 1 MEMORY VERSE: - 2 Timothy 2:20-21 - "But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work." God's church is the great house here and it's not every body in the church that is qualified to enter into a certain realm in God. It is a place reserved for the chosen ones. Salvation is free, but to be chosen will cost you something. In Matthew 22:14 Jesus said, " Many are called but few are CHOSEN." To be " Called " refers to a broad invitation to a general state of salvation or service, while to be "Chosen" signifies a divine selection, to be set apart, and to be singled out for a specific purpose or mission. It is definitely not everyone that is called that gets to be c...

TRUE WORSHIP 4

Image
TRUE WORSHIP 4 MEMORY VERSE: - John 4:24 - "For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth .” True Worship is also something that must be done alongside the truth. You cannot claim to be a true worshipper and yet, you do not live in line with God's word. For if Jesus said the ‘Father is to be worshipped in spirit and in Truth', it then shows how important Truth is to our worship. It is evident that Truth is an important factor in our faith.   We can’t separate Truth from Christianity. It is actually the real deal. What the Father requires from us is to have Truth stored up in us and to live out the Truth. In his letter to the Colossians Church , Paul said, "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord" Colossians 3:16 . Without having the indwelling truth in you, you can't worship in spiri...

THE GOD WHO DOES GREAT THINGS 2

Image
THE GOD WHO DOES GREAT THINGS 2 MEMORY VERSE: - Job 5:8-9 - "I would seek unto God, And unto God would I commit my cause: Which doeth great things and unsearchable; Marvellous things without number:”     In times of distress we must seek unto God for in Him is our help. The Psalmist in Psalm 46:1 said, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." If he is our helper, then, we must turn to Him for help when we are faced with challenges. Furthermore, David was a man who also knew his God and in his challenges, he turned towards him, he knew that looking up to anything else would be a huge disaster for him, hence, he turned his eyes away from looking to the mountains to looking unto God. In Psalm 121:1-2 he said, "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, From whence cometh my help. [2] My help cometh from the LORD, Which made heaven and earth." In order word, he said, 'if I decided to look up to the hills will my help come from there? No,...

THE GOD WHO DOES GREAT THINGS

Image
THE GOD WHO DOES GREAT THINGS MEMORY VERSE: - Job 5:8-9 - "I would seek unto God, And unto God would I commit my cause: Which doeth great things and unsearchable; Marvellous things without number:”   Sometimes when people are going through difficulty in life, they tend to forget about the greatness of God and allow themselves to be overwhelmed with their situations. Most people when they are faced with situations or challenges of life, they commit themselves into seeking help in the wrong places. Some turn to family, some to friends, some to visioners, some to false prophets where they are charged to pay money for prayers, and some seek for business men and women using Jesus name to make merchandise by selling things to them for their help. In so doing they entangle themselves with demonic covenants that will later turn around and hurt them and not just them but it goes to generations after them.  And it goes on and on unless someone in the family embraces Jesus and rises up ...

ESTABLISHING GOD’S WILL 2

Image
ESTABLISHING GOD’S WILL 2 MEMORY VERSE: - Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." In Psalm 33:11 the psalmist says, “The Lord’s plans stand firm forever.” Now, for the fact that the Lord says His plan for us is to prosper, it then means that His plans to prosper us stand firm and are eternal, no power, force nor any human agent can stop us from prospering. Furthermore, in Mathew 6:10 we see Jesus making us to understand how important it is for us to be in the center of the perfect Will of God when He said we should pray for it. “Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done in the earth as it is in Heaven” God's plans are His perfect Will for us. Jesus through this great teaching on prayer for God’s Will to be done, has revealed to us the importance of us experiencing God’s plans in our lives on earth. Thus, there is a great need for us to desire to know God's pe...

ESTABLISHING GOD’S WILL

Image
ESTABLISHING GOD’S WILL MEMORY VERSE: - Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." It is important to know God's will for you but knowing is not enough, you have to also see to it that His will for your life is established. The Will of God is His divine plan or purpose. It is what God has determined to be done or what God wants us to do. It is the concept of God having a plan for humanity, and He is desiring, longing and yearning to see this plan fulfilled.  God’s divine Will or plan for His children is prosperity, good life, sound health and it is to enjoy pleasures in this life. Wherefore the psalmist said, “He takes pleasure in the prosperity of His people” (Psalm 35:27). Actually, God loves pleasure hence it is written, “….At His right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11). So, God never planned for His children to suffer or go through shame, reproa...

LIVING BY THE SPIRIT

Image
LIVING BY THE SPIRIT MEMORY VERSE: - Zechariah 4:6 - "Not by might nor by power but by my spirit says the Lord". In Christ we are not called to live by ourselves, we are to live through Him via the Holy Spirit . To live by the Spirit is to give yourself completely to the leading of the Holy Spirit: with you not allowing your human senses to interfere. It is the place where you are not living for yourself but living by faith in Christ through the Holy Spirit. Just like Paul wrote, "....I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me. And the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." ( Galatians 2:20 ). Our human ability is not sufficient to achieve all that the Lord has ordained for us to achieve. Moreover, it is not enough to conquer the devices of the wicked one , we need the presence, the enablement, the endowment, the overwhelming power of the Holy Spirit to live out our divine mandate . It is...

BE SENSITIVE TO YOUR MOMENT 3

Image
BE SENSITIVE TO YOUR MOMENT 3 MEMORY VERSE: - John 17:14–16, - "have given them your Word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, ..... I do not ask you to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.” One of the things that stands against people from embracing their visitation time is Religious spirit. Oh, how religious spirits have robbed many of their God given blessings. It tells them they don't have right to the earthly blessings because they are not of this world.  Wherefore, they misunderstand and misapply the scripture, taking it to mean that for the reason that we are not of this world, we do not need the blessings of God in this world.  Recognize that Jesus said “Not of the world” it is not that we are not living in the world but that we do not belong to the world. Therefore, by saying we are not of this world, Jesus is simply saying, 'Our kingdom where we tru...

READY FOR MASTER'S USE

Image
READY FOR MASTER'S USE   MEMORY VERSE: - 2 Timothy 2:19 - “Let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity,” Coming into the family of God changes everything about our attitude and the way we react to things, people, situations, and challenges that come our way. Remember that God's grace enables us to achieve beyond the ordinary and to live right. So, how do we walk with grace? We are to yield to him so that He will help us to “DEPART FROM INIQUITY” as our text says.  The truth is that due to the spirit of the age operating in these end times which makes many believers to be insensitive to spiritual things; iniquity is on the increase.  A lot of believers are in the church but have refused to let go of their old evil ways, rather they see grace as one who has come to help them achieve their evil scheme, this is absurd. How can we even think that God supports evil; why then did Jesus sacrifice His life for us?  We must know that what...

ABIDING IN CHRIST

Image
ABIDING IN CHRIST MEMORY VERSE: - John 15:5 - “ Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me." The true secret of living a successful Christian life in this world and being fruitful in life is found here in this statement of Jesus, 'Abide in me'. Yes, abiding in Him is the key to it all, leaning on Him, communing with Him, fellowshipping with Him in word, worship and prayer. Meditating on him and the word keeps your mind stayed on Him. Many have sought for deliverance, they have struggled with ungodly habits, some are entangled in a web of situations and some have wrestled in prayers to no avail. But here is the answer to every struggle right before us in His word, "Abide In me." Oh, yes, it is to abide, to stay, to remain rooted, to dwell in Christ. He is our anchor, our defence, our Glory and the lifter of our heads. Paul tells us "Let the word of Christ dwell...
