A CHOSEN VESSEL PT 3

THE CHOSEN VESSEL PT 3 MEMORY VERSE: - 2 Timothy 2:20-21 - "But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work." Upon consecration of themselves, the children of Israel were assured of enjoying God’s blessings. The Lord promised that He would do amazing things among them (See Joshua 3:5). Therefore, consecrating ourselves also benefits us in a great way. Someone might say, the believer does not need to be consecrated because Jesus has consecrated himself for us. Child of God, listen, Jesus consecration did not in any way stop our consecration. In John 17:19 Jesus said, "I’m consecrating myself for their sakes So they’ll be truth-consecrated in their mission" (MSG). By consecrating himself, Jesus showed us that w...

If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work." In part 1 of this series we saw what it means to be chosen and what a vessel is. Now, let us bring the two words together, 'CHOSEN VESSEL' To become a chosen vessel is not for those who mess around or violate their vessel.  It is not entered into by being religious, it is not entered into by your looks or by physical appearance but it is entered into by:  1. CONSECRATION Joshua 3:5 says, "Then Joshua said to the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” (ESV). They had to make themselves ready for the Lord by purging, cleansing,...

THE CHOSEN VESSEL PT 1 MEMORY VERSE: - 2 Timothy 2:20-21 - "But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work." God's church is the great house here and it's not every body in the church that is qualified to enter into a certain realm in God. It is a place reserved for the chosen ones. Salvation is free, but to be chosen will cost you something. In Matthew 22:14 Jesus said, " Many are called but few are CHOSEN." To be " Called " refers to a broad invitation to a general state of salvation or service, while to be "Chosen" signifies a divine selection, to be set apart, and to be singled out for a specific purpose or mission. It is definitely not everyone that is called that gets to be c...

TRUE WORSHIP 4

Image
TRUE WORSHIP 4 MEMORY VERSE: - John 4:24 - "For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth .” True Worship is also something that must be done alongside the truth. You cannot claim to be a true worshipper and yet, you do not live in line with God's word. For if Jesus said the ‘Father is to be worshipped in spirit and in Truth', it then shows how important Truth is to our worship. It is evident that Truth is an important factor in our faith.   We can’t separate Truth from Christianity. It is actually the real deal. What the Father requires from us is to have Truth stored up in us and to live out the Truth. In his letter to the Colossians Church , Paul said, "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord" Colossians 3:16 . Without having the indwelling truth in you, you can't worship in spiri...

THE GOD WHO DOES GREAT THINGS 2

THE GOD WHO DOES GREAT THINGS 2 MEMORY VERSE: - Job 5:8-9 - "I would seek unto God, And unto God would I commit my cause: Which doeth great things and unsearchable; Marvellous things without number:”     In times of distress we must seek unto God for in Him is our help. The Psalmist in Psalm 46:1 said, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." If he is our helper, then, we must turn to Him for help when we are faced with challenges. Furthermore, David was a man who also knew his God and in his challenges, he turned towards him, he knew that looking up to anything else would be a huge disaster for him, hence, he turned his eyes away from looking to the mountains to looking unto God. In Psalm 121:1-2 he said, "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, From whence cometh my help. [2] My help cometh from the LORD, Which made heaven and earth." In order word, he said, 'if I decided to look up to the hills will my help come from there? No,...

THE GOD WHO DOES GREAT THINGS

THE GOD WHO DOES GREAT THINGS MEMORY VERSE: - Job 5:8-9 - "I would seek unto God, And unto God would I commit my cause: Which doeth great things and unsearchable; Marvellous things without number:”   Sometimes when people are going through difficulty in life, they tend to forget about the greatness of God and allow themselves to be overwhelmed with their situations. Most people when they are faced with situations or challenges of life, they commit themselves into seeking help in the wrong places. Some turn to family, some to friends, some to visioners, some to false prophets where they are charged to pay money for prayers, and some seek for business men and women using Jesus name to make merchandise by selling things to them for their help. In so doing they entangle themselves with demonic covenants that will later turn around and hurt them and not just them but it goes to generations after them.  And it goes on and on unless someone in the family embraces Jesus and rises up ...

ESTABLISHING GOD’S WILL 2

Image
ESTABLISHING GOD’S WILL 2 MEMORY VERSE: - Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." In Psalm 33:11 the psalmist says, “The Lord’s plans stand firm forever.” Now, for the fact that the Lord says His plan for us is to prosper, it then means that His plans to prosper us stand firm and are eternal, no power, force nor any human agent can stop us from prospering. Furthermore, in Mathew 6:10 we see Jesus making us to understand how important it is for us to be in the center of the perfect Will of God when He said we should pray for it. “Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done in the earth as it is in Heaven” God's plans are His perfect Will for us. Jesus through this great teaching on prayer for God’s Will to be done, has revealed to us the importance of us experiencing God’s plans in our lives on earth. Thus, there is a great need for us to desire to know God's pe...
