THE POWER OF PRAYER AND PRAISE 2 MEMORY VERSE: - Acts 16:25 - "And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them" Wherefore, verse 26 of our text made us understand that when Paul and Silas prayed and praised God, He came through for them. "And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken." It didn't take long, their God arose in His power and sent an earthquake to the prison that shook it to its foundation.  You may recall that the jailer having received a strict command, threw them into the innermost prison which is the dungeon or in today's terms, the maximum security cell and clamped down their legs with irons. He did it so that by no means would they be able to escape.  But our Most High God, the Almighty God, the God whose name is Jahovah, the God who chooses to become whatever He wants to become for the sake of His children came in His power into the prison as an

  THE POWER OF PRAYER AND PRAISE MEMORY VERSE: - Acts 16:25 - "And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them" Paul and Silas were on their way to prayer, when they encountered a fortune telling girl. The spirit inside the girl knew the truth about God’s power, and she followed them for days saying the same thing over and over. Eventually, Paul sensed that the spirit in her is not right thus, he cast the spirit out of her. This made her masters angry and they came after Paul and Silas and locked them up in the prison. Now, in the midst of their challenge, Paul and Silas did not murmur against God neither did they complain nor feel bad about their situation. Rather, they turn to God in prayer mixed with praise. While some believers would have felt bad and abandoned by God for not coming in His power to save them immediately but instead He allowed the matter to escalate to the point of them being taken to prison.
