WAIT ON THE LORD

MEMORY VERSE: - Isaiah 40:31 - "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint."

To wait means to stay where one is or delay action until a particular time or event. It is to remain in readiness for a purpose. Oftentimes we find it difficult to be in such place of waiting due to its challenging work. Waiting period can be so difficult because we humans want to see things done as soon as possible.

In Psalm 27:14, David said, "Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord." Thus we can see that waiting goes hand in hand with Patience. We must learn to be patience and get more and more patience and wait for he who has promised will surely perform his good will towards us.

In waiting, we must spend much time in prayers. Prayer is a very important key in the place of waiting. Paul admonished us, “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” Romans 12:12.

Most times when we are in the place of waiting, prayers seems to be unanswered and then we begin to hesitate and we begin to do things that we should not do. Then we begin wonder; complain and murmur, we begin to question the Lord and His ways. Did God hear me? Does He care? How long do I have to wait? Doesn’t He know what I’m dealing with? We have to be careful not to question God’s ways and His timing rather we should remember his promises and declare them.

Always remember that, "He has made everything beautiful in his time” (Ecclesiastes 3:11a). Listen, no matter how the challenges may seem tougher, we must pray, eat the Word, and build a strong relationship with God in the time of waiting. So, wait on the Lord no matter what, and you will get the best results at the end.

PRAYER

Father in heaven how I love you and appreciate you for always being with me and for your continuous mercoover my life. Help me Lord not to go outside your perfect will for me but to wait on you in Jesus name, Amen.
