DESTROYING THE COVERING CAST 3 MEMORY VERSE: - Isaiah 25: 7 - "And He will destroy on this mountain the surface of the covering cast over all people and the veil that is spread over all nations.” In 2 Kings 2:19, we read about the land of Jericho and its inhabitants, it says, "One day the leaders of the town of Jericho visited Elisha. "We have a problem, my lord," they told him. "This town is located in pleasant surroundings, as you can see. But the water is bad, and the land is unproductive." Why was their land unproductive? Because of the pronouncement on it by Joshua. After the Lord God gave the city of Jericho into the hands of Joshua and the people of Israel, Joshua pronounced a curse on the city: (See Joshua 6:16 –19). Remember a curse brings about covering and when there is a covering in a family no matter how well such a family is situated, they will be unproductive, they will be operating in struggle and will be frustrated in every effort. DESTROYING THE COVERING CAST 2 MEMORY VERSE: - Isaiah 25: 7 - "And He will destroy on this mountain the surface of the covering cast over all people and the veil that is spread over all nations.” There are many things that bring about covering and one of them is that which comes from curses. Like in the case of Ruben who experienced so much setbacks, reduction in number and even rejection after his father Jacob invoked negative pronouncements on him in Genesis 49:4 "Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel....." And true to Jacob's words, Ruben began to struggle and was diminishing in number.
