TRUE WORSHIP 2

MEMORY VERSE: - Isaiah 29:13 "...These people draw near to me with their mouths, and honour me with their lips, yet have removed their hearts far from me. Moreover, their worship toward me is the doctrines of men."

Religion worship is a show of the flesh, it is a lip worship and God is against lip worship. And to show how God frowns at worship that is not from the heart, which is lip worship, Jesus re-echoed these words in our memory verse in the book of Matthew 15:8. 

Lip worship is a hypocritical kind of worship, it is pretentious worship, it's a worship of show up, it appears to be godly before men but inwardly, the heart is far from God. 

The father seeks for true worshippers, He seeks for those who will worship Him with genuine hearts in revere, awe and adoration. He seeks for worshipers that both their words and lifestyle portrays what they believe.

Oh, how many people talk religiously but live differently from their words. Many showcase man made appearance while their lifestyle portrays evil and wickedness. Truly, appearance can be very deceitful and have deceived many indeed because man looks at appearance instead of the fruits.

True worship is in a lifestyle that must portray the life that one believes. The reason why you do not offer lip worship unto God is because He is a spirit. Continuing in the dialogue between Jesus and the Samaritan woman, the Lord said: “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." John 4:24

You don't worship a Spirit in a formalistic way, nor in a mechanical way; it must originate from within, from the heart of sincerity and love for God the father and the Son Jesus. Outside this is a worship that originates from "doctrines of men."


   PRAYER

Lord Jesus, I love and worship You for all that You have done for me, I pray that you pardon me for inappropriate worship and Lord I long to worship You in spirit and in truth, help me to achieve this in Jesus name, Amen

Their king passes on before them, the Lord at their head"   To 'Go' is to make a movement, while 'beyond' is to stretch more than usual, it's to go further, to go farther than normal, to go over the above limits.
