TRUE WORSHIP 4


MEMORY VERSE: - John 4:24 - "For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”

True Worship is also something that must be done alongside the truth. You cannot claim to be a true worshipper and yet, you do not live in line with God's word. For if Jesus said the ‘Father is to be worshipped in spirit and in Truth', it then shows how important Truth is to our worship. It is evident that Truth is an important factor in our faith.
 
We can’t separate Truth from Christianity. It is actually the real deal. What the Father requires from us is to have Truth stored up in us and to live out the Truth. In his letter to the Colossians Church, Paul said, "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord" Colossians 3:16.

Without having the indwelling truth in you, you can't worship in spirit and truth because what you have is what you give out. A true form of worship is from a true heart that is centered on the truth of God’s word. You can only know and do that which pleases the Lord when you have the truth dwelling in you. And you can only know and understand God's perfect Will for you when you have the truth in you.

Today, most worshippers do not care about pleasing the Father but themselves. They only care about their selfish desires instead of things of God. As a result, they are not practicing the form of worship that God approves of. 

So for us to worship God "in spirit and in truth" we must worship with a pure heart and align our actions and affections with the truth revealed in God's word. Therefore, let us yield ourselves to the Spirit of Grace to lead us into true worship in spirit and in truth.

PRAYER
Glorious God, I am grateful for another day. Help me through the power of your Holy Spirit to offer you worship that will be pleasing to you in Jesus name, Amen!

  THE POWER OF PRAYER AND PRAISE MEMORY VERSE: - Acts 16:25 - "And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them" Paul and Silas were on their way to prayer, when they encountered a fortune telling girl. The spirit inside the girl knew the truth about God’s power, and she followed them for days saying the same thing over and over. Eventually, Paul sensed that the spirit in her is not right thus, he cast the spirit out of her. This made her masters angry and they came after Paul and Silas and locked them up in the prison.
