THE CHOSEN VESSEL PT 1


MEMORY VERSE: - 2 Timothy 2:20-21 - "But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work."

God's church is the great house here and it's not every body in the church that is qualified to enter into a certain realm in God. It is a place reserved for the chosen ones. Salvation is free, but to be chosen will cost you something.

In Matthew 22:14 Jesus said, "Many are called but few are CHOSEN." To be "Called" refers to a broad invitation to a general state of salvation or service, while to be "Chosen" signifies a divine selection, to be set apart, and to be singled out for a specific purpose or mission. It is definitely not everyone that is called that gets to be chosen, one has to rightly position himself or herself in order to be chosen.

What Is A Vessel?
The dictionary defines a vessel as an object that is used to hold, or contain, something. It could be made of glass, metal, wood, stone, or clay. E.g, Things like a bottle, or mug are all containers. Their purpose is to be filled with a particular substance.

In God's house we are vessels, containers that houses God. We are His temple, a home where He wants to permanently dwell. 1 Corinthians 6:19 says, "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;" But today, it's a pity that not everyone in Him is willing to surrender their body for God to dwell.

Now, God, through the Holy Spirit, indwells only believers who genuinely have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. And He is in them for a specific purpose, "To be His representative wherever they are at". That is to say, in your home, in your marriage, in your office, in your school, in your environment, in your community, everywhere you find yourself, you are there to represent God. And how you represent Him matters a lot.

PRAYER
Glorious God, I am grateful for another day. Help me through the power of your Holy Spirit to to be a chosen vessel pleasing to you in Jesus name, Amen!
