THE CHOSEN VESSEL PT 2

MEMORY VERSE: - 2 Timothy 2:20-21 - "But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work."

In part 1 of this series we saw what it means to be chosen and what a vessel is. Now, let us bring the two words together, 'CHOSEN VESSEL' To become a chosen vessel is not for those who mess around or violate their vessel. 

It is not entered into by being religious, it is not entered into by your looks or by physical appearance but it is entered into by: 
Joshua 3:5 says, "Then Joshua said to the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” (ESV). They had to make themselves ready for the Lord by purging, cleansing, purifying themselves before they could go into the presence of God because nothing that is defiled can come into His presence otherwise they will be consumed by his wrath.

To consecrate is to set apart, to separate, to devote oneself to God. You need to separate yourself from the noise out there, separate yourself from the worldly systems, separate yourself from things that will defile you and from things that will stand between and your relationship with God, things that will stand as a resistance to your divine assignment in life. 

The scripture in 2 Timothy 2:4 tells us that, "No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a SOLDIER." The chosen vessel is enlisted into the army of the Lord therefore, should do everything to avoid mixing up with the civilian (the world, immortality). Because they will mess you up. 

PRAYER
Precious God, I thank you for another opportunity to experience your graciousness in life. This day, I consecrate myself to you, let me be your chosen vessel in Jesus name, Amen!

Their king passes on before them, the Lord at their head"   To 'Go' is to make a movement, while 'beyond' is to stretch more than usual, it's to go further, to go farther than normal, to go over the above limits.
