THE CHOSEN VESSEL PT 3


MEMORY VERSE: - 2 Timothy 2:20-21 - "But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work."

Upon consecration of themselves, the children of Israel were assured of enjoying God’s blessings. The Lord promised that He would do amazing things among them (See Joshua 3:5). Therefore, consecrating ourselves also benefits us in a great way.

Someone might say, the believer does not need to be consecrated because Jesus has consecrated himself for us. Child of God, listen, Jesus consecration did not in any way stop our consecration. In John 17:19 Jesus said, "I’m consecrating myself for their sakes So they’ll be truth-consecrated in their mission" (MSG).

By consecrating himself, Jesus showed us that we need to do the same in order to make ourselves a chosen vessel ready for the master's use. Therefore, consecration is not just an Old Testament thing but also for the believer. 

Now, another thing that one needs to do in order to be a chosen vessel is: 'DEDICATION'. In Romans 12:1-2 Paul says, "Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God......" (AMP). This verse speaks to a personal, lifelong dedication of oneself to God. 

This is the place of TOTAL YIELDEDNESS to your Lord and Master. In this place you come to the end of yourself, you die. The truth is that, until you come to the end of yourself, you can never live the true Kingdom life. 

You must 'DIE TO SELF' and become selfless because you no longer own yourself or your will.... You are God's house and he rules the world through you. You must be submitted to God, surrendering to His perfect will. I therefore urge you to make yourself a living sacrifice to God, let Him become your all in all and let Him take over your entire life. 

PRAYER:
Glorious God, I honour you this day and I totally surrender myself to you that you may use me for your glory in Jesus name, Amen!
