THE CHOSEN VESSEL PT 5


MEMORY VERSE: - 2 Timothy 2:20-21 - "But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work."

Furthermore if you want to be a chosen vessel, you need to drop off your tradition. I hear some believers say things like 'This is how we do it in my family, this is how we do it in my place or in my village'.... You can't be actively doing bids of your tradition and want to be God's chosen vessel, it will not work. Jesus says, "you nullify the word of God by your traditions" (Mark 7:13).

As a child of God, you are separated from every form of humanistic traditions because mixing the traditions of men and Christianity is serving two masters and certainly, you can't serve two masters in Christ, you must let go of one. 

Jesus said, “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon." (See Matthew 6:24). So, you are either for Christ or for your tradition, the choice is yours to make. 

The truth is that putting oneself in the level of the traditions of men is to be functioning in the less, it is living in the low level, it is to be in the level of shallow water. A call to be chosen as a vessel is a higher calling that one must press in unto.

Philippians 3:14 says, "I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus". You need to have a disciplined mind and not allow yourself to be influenced by your traditions. You must choose to press towards the higher calling of God and must keep pressing no matter what the enemy is throwing at you to stop you. You must avoid every distractions and stay focused on Christ

PRAYER
Father God, I thank you for your unfailing grace and mercy in my life; and today, I repent from my error of mixing the traditions of men with my faith. I chose to serve you alone in Jesus name, Amen!
