BECOMING RESTLESS
BECOMING RESTLESS
MEMORY VERSE: - Genesis 27:40 - “By your sword you shall live, and you shall serve your brother: But it shall come about when you become restless, that you will break his yoke from your neck”.
When we are talking about restlessness, we are not talking about being worried or anxious but are dealing with not being comfortable with any unpleasant condition in your life and around you. We are saying we should not settle for the less, we must be irritated and be discontented with mediocre kind of life. We must have a persistent desire for change or for a better life and push towards its goal.
We were told in the scripture that after Jacob had taken Esau’s blessing, that Esau wept bitterly. Why was that? Because he knew he had lost a very valuable thing that could have made his journey of life easy and fruitful. However, his father Isaac told him that there is a way out and that way is in the place of restlessness and breaking of yokes. He must become restless with his condition thus he would be able to break the yoke of hardship off from his life as we saw in our memory verse.
This is the point where one says, enough is enough. It is where one is completely tired and worn out with nonsense, it is the point where you have had enough and are fed up with all the negativities that is happening around you; thus, you will begin to arise in prayers for a change. Furthermore, becoming restless is the point where you hate with passion the unpleasant situation, you become very agitated to it, you strive to make sure it loses its hold on you and let you go.
Wasn't that what Jacob did, when he laid hold on the Angel? He was tired of his condition, he was tired of living below God’s purpose for him, he was tired of everything going on around him and he needed to enter into his rest and therefore, he became restless and contented strongly with the Angel for a change and he got what he wanted.
Do not tolerate unpleasant situation, do not settle for the less, become restless and desperate enough to break the yoke of resistance to your destiny. In Isaiah 52:2 the scripture says, “Shake yourself from the dust, arise…. Loose yourself from the bonds of your neck.”
PRAYER
Father in the name of your son Jesus, I thank you for your word and I refuse to settle for any unpleasant condition of life that is not inline with your purpose for me. I break loose from mediocre life, Amen
