ALWAYS BE GRATEFUL FOR WHAT YOU HAVE PT1

MEMORY VERSE: - Genesis 2:16-17 - "[16] And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: [17] but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."

Being grateful for what you have is something that many believers find difficult to do. A lot of believers are fond of focusing on what they do not have than what they have that they get so overwhelmed by it. They feel so terribly bad over that one thing and neglect all the good things that the Lord has done for them.

In the case of Adam and Eve, God gave them the whole earth and everything in it, he gave them the firmament, the sea and all that is in it. Everything created was delivered into their hands to rule and reign over. Yet, they still allowed themselves to be deceived by the devil and focused on the only one thing they do not have. They had 99% of all that God created but still went after the one thing that God did not give them.

The scripture in Genesis 3:1 said, "Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" Now, they were initially living their lives in all perfection. All was working for them, their lives and home were peaceful and happy until the devil crept in and focused their attention on what they didn't have.

This is exactly who the devil is. All he wants is to make you focus on what you don't have instead of being grateful and thankful for what you have and many are allowing themselves to be his victim. As a result, most believers are never satisfied with what they have, they complain and murmur because of that one thing that they don't have.

They allow the devil to lay hold on their mind by making them concentrate on the one thing that they don't have yet, thus, they become ungrateful for what they have and ungratefulness has taken many people out of their garden.

PRAYER:
Glorious Father, I thank you for every good thing you have done in my life and family. Thank you for your consistence supply, thank you for helping us when we needed it in Jesus Amen.
