First of all, we must understand why they removed their earrings because many misunderstood this removing of earrings and made it a dogma that wearing earrings is a sin. Understand that these earrings were idols, and charms they wear as protection from where they were coming from.  These people were idol worshippers and everything around them had the images of their idols and represents one god or the other. The scripture in Luke 13:11-13 revealed how the day of remembrance came for the woman that the devil afflicted for eighteen years with infirmity spirit.
