KNOW NO MAN AFTER THE FLESH

MEMORY VERSE: - 2 Corinthians 5:16 - "Therefore, henceforth know we no man according to the flesh; yea, though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now henceforth we know Him so no more."

Paul says they had come to the point of no longer seeing Jesus from a purely outward perspective. How did they know Jesus after the flesh? It was to know Him naturally without knowledge of His spiritual worth. They knew Jesus as the son of Joseph the Carpenter and his wife, Mary. They knew His growing up, they knew His strength and weaknesses, hence they didn't place value on His spiritual worth.

We were told in the scripture what happened in Jesus home town. According to Mark 6:5, while Jesus was in His hometown of Nazareth, “He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them” Why? Because the people did not believe in Him, there were knowing Him according to the flesh. Thus they took Him for granted. They said, “Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t His mother’s name Mary, and aren’t His brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas? Aren’t all His sisters with us as well? Where then did this man get all these things?” (Matthew 13:55, 56).

Many who are in a church, those who are closed to their minister, especially those who live with them in same place, oftentimes becomes too familiar with the minister that they do not actually drink from the milk of God's grace in them. You can't enjoy the anointing in the life of God's servant when you are not valuing his or her spiritual worth. For anyone to receive the impactation from their minister, they have to change their perspective on how they see him or her.

Paul said, they once knew Jesus on the human perspective... Hence we see why he was used against the gospel. But now, since he has experienced Christ and has seen His spiritual worth, His power and His glory, He no longer see Him or know him according to the human perspective. Not only did they stop knowing Jesus according to the flesh, they had also stopped knowing people purely based on outward appearance. “Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh.”

So, it's important we learn to see people not based on their humanistic or former ways of life perspective but from the perspective of their new life in Christ. Moreover, we must begin to value the spiritual worth of our ministers, thus it will benefit us.

PRAYER

Thank you heavenly Father for your Son Jesus, thank you for your servant whom you have put as my spiritual overseer. Am sorry for not valuing them, and From this day, I no longer see my pastors from human perspective but from the spiritual in Jesus name, Amen
