 WILLINGNESS AND OBEDIENCE

MEMORY VERSE: - Isaiah 1:19 - “If you are willing and obedient you will eat the good of the land.”

Job said, "If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures." (Job 36:11). God’s promised of prosperity is authentic but if we want to experience this prosperity as believers, there are vital key we cannot do without. One of such key factor to true prosperity in Christ is living out His Word, which is to be a doer of the Word of God. James admonished us in chapter 1 verse 22, “But be doers of the Word and not hearers only….”

In the old covenant they were told to live in obedience to the law of God; however, in Christ Jesus we live beyond that for we are doers of the Word because 'we are born again by the Word of God' (1Peter 1:23). Moreover, the 'Word is written in our hearts' as declared in Jeremiah 31:33. Similarly, we are told in Hebrews 10:16 that the 'Word is written in the heart of the believer.'

Therefore, as God’s children in Christ, we have the Word indwelling in us; as a result, our daily life should reflect the living Word. We are living epistles, the world sees Jesus through us, as such, they should see Christ attributes in us and glorify our Father in Heaven. So, for the believer, the Word is not just in the pages of the Bible but living and abiding in their hearts, it is a daily experience. Thus, beyond obedience is living out the Word.

And so, our opening text in Isaiah 1:19 says, "If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land" Oh yes! There’s good in the kingdom of our God for us. He has so much in store for us to enjoy. In it, you will find health, peace, joy, wealth, riches, success, and everything good you can think of. But to enjoy all that is stored up for you in this Kingdom, you need to be willing to be a living epistle of Christ.

PRAYER

Thank you, heavenly Father, for your indwelling word. Am sorry for not living in accordance to your Word and this day, I ask that you give me the grace to be a doer of your Word in Jesus’ name, Amen
