OVERCOMING BY FAITH

MEMORY VERSE: - 1 John 5:4 - "For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith."

Faith is the key that will take you from where you are to where God wants you to be. Faith is the victory, for faith makes the promises of Jesus Christ real to us.

According to our text in 1 John 5:4, he tells us, that overcoming faith is what brings victory. All around us are those who declare positively that they believe in God, yet they are living defeated lives due to lack of faith.

What is a defeated life? It is a life without fruit. We are commanded by the Lord to bear fruit. Jesus said, "Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples" (John 15:8).

God wants us to live in Victory every day of our lives. And faith is the key to achieving that. Wherefore John says, “The victory that overcomes the world, is our faith.” To overcome means to succeed in dealing with a challenge. It means to conquer, to triumph over, to prevail over, and to rise above.

 As a child of God, you are an overcomer in Christ however, you need to exercise your faith in order for you to be able to live the overcomer’s life in this world. We must be steadfast in the promises of God, and be confidence in believing that God is the greatest and above every other power.

To walk in senses or evidences is to walk in the flesh and not in faith. Out of faith is out of God. Faith believes that the word of God cannot fail and cannot be made void; neither can he return to God without accomplishing what he has been sent to do. Therefore live the life of faith not in senses.


PRAYER

Thank you Lord for the victory over all challenges of life that you have given me, as a result, I refuse to live the defeated life in Jesus’ name, Amen

Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day"   A lot of people pray but do not believe they can have the answer to their request immediately. Their faith is always in the future. The mindset of future has kept them from embracing that which is theirs at the moment. Thus, they neglect the place of faith in the now of today’s experience.
