LOOK UNTO HIM

MEMORY VERSE: - Psalm 34:5 - "They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed" Psalm 34:5.

From the text above the word "him" is referring to the"Lord". No man ever look to the Lord Jesus is disappointed. We are admonished by the Psalmist to look up to the Lord in times of trouble and challenges for only in Him we can find refuge, help and strength to go through it and come out unhurt and strong. 

To look unto the Lord is to trust Him with all your heart. And to trust Him is to depend on Him, to rely on Him, to have confidence in Him. The Psalmist declared, "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God." Psalm 20:7

When we look up to him, then we are handing over our burdens to him, thus He will take it from us and lighten the weight of the burden. In John 3:14-15. Jesus compared himself being “lifted up” in the same fashion Moses lifted up the bronze serpent on the pole in the wilderness, "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life".

All it took them was a “look” to live. Today we are also invited to come and look to Jesus and live. So, are you weighed down with situations, circumstances and challenges. Are you struggling with shame, guilt or condemnation? Do you feel you have failed God or others? Whatsoever it maybe that you are going through just Look unto Jesus and be lightened, let Him take care of the burdens for you.


PRAYER

Father in the name of your Son Jesus, I come before you in worship and adoration and I put my trust in you. I look up to you for my needs, my family, my finances, my ministry and I ask that you perfect all things, Amen.

Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day"   A lot of people pray but do not believe they can have the answer to their request immediately. Their faith is always in the future. The mindset of future has kept them from embracing that which is theirs at the moment. Thus, they neglect the place of faith in the now of today’s experience.
