TRUST IN THE LORD 1

MEMORY VERSE: - Proverbs 3:5-6 - “Trust in the LORD with all your heart. And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

One of the things most believers struggle with, is trusting in the Lord whole heartedly. God desires that we put our full trust in Him, that we turn to Him for strength, and that we rest safely knowing that His heart toward us is good. This shows loyalty to his sovereignty. 

What does it mean to trust in the LORD with all your heart? It is to put one’s complete, total, comprehensive confidence in Him. It is to be reliance in, dependence in, to feel secure, and to rest easy in the Lord. The Psalmist in Psalm 119:117 said, "Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually."

The Psalmist so trusted in the Lord his God that he totally depends on him for everything. He lost sight of his ability and position in life and gain more and more sight of God's greatness. At every given stage and face in life, we are to trust God as He alone is able to help us and see us through.

God never planned for us to suffer unnecessary hardships, distress nor difficulties in life, but when such challenges happen, we should turn to Him for help. Therefore at every given stage and face in life, we are to trust God as He alone is able to help us and give us victory.


PRAYER 

Oh Lord my God, I thank you for your love and I put my trust in you for every details of my life. Help me out of every challenge of life in Jesus name, Amen.

But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day"   A lot of people pray but do not believe they can have the answer to their request immediately. Their faith is always in the future. The mindset of future has kept them from embracing that which is theirs at the moment. Thus, they neglect the place of faith in the now of today’s experience. While Martha could only think of the future as the only time her brother could rise again from the dead, Jesus was seeing it happening in the moment.
