WORSHIP IN SPIRIT 1

MEMORY VERSE: - John 4:23 - “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him."

What does it mean to worship God in spirit? To worship God in spirit is to worship Him from our innermost being; it is to serve Him with reverence from the heart. It is a worship of faith and love. Worship in spirit is not about a place or building or ones personality or physical structure but in ones state of heart. 

In the old, the ancient Jews worshipped God in symbols; like that of the ARK of covenant, but for the new creation man, there is no form of symbolic worship but a worship which flows from a true heart that is cleansed with the precious blood of Jesus.

It's a pity that some christians practice image worship today with the so called Jesus picture. You must understand that the person who is used in those pictures is not our Lord and savior Jesus but someone who was paid to do so. Jesus is alive, He's seated by the right hand side of the father in heaven, and we see Him with the eyes of faith and worship Him from a true heart.

If we accept pictures of Christ, we are violating the Word of God which expressly forbids the use of images (pictures) to represent God. "You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth" (Exodus 20:3–4). Image of Jesus worship is idolatry and it's forbidden.

Worship in spirit is not in outward show or in codes of appearance but a matter of the heart. It is an internal worship which expresses the magnitude of God’s graciousness and His infinite goodness.

 Listen, the true believer is not the man who trusts in outward forms of religion but those who worship and adore from the inner most being.


PRAYER 

Father Lord, I am grateful for your love, I repent for the error of image worship and from this day, I move upward in true worship in spirit, Amen.
