REST FROM TOILING

REST FROM TOILING

MEMORY VERSE: - Genesis 41:51 - “And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house.”

Opposite of rest is restlessness.... Confusion.... Agitation.... Commotion.... Unrest.... Instability.... Stress. But the rest we are dealing with here is rest from toiling; which is to make great efforts without results.

We read about Peter and friends who experienced such toiling. Luke 5:5 tells us, “And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless, at thy word I will let down the net.” For anyone to rest from toiling, he or she must be endued with grace; for it is grace that will help you, carry you, and favour you in life.

Grace gives you rest. Grace brings you success. Grace makes things work. Grace makes your way easy and fast. Grace makes you to be ahead of your contemporaries. Grace is the enablement of God. Grace is the presence of God resting upon all you do.

Listen, Grace goes hand in hand with God's presence. When you have Grace, its evidence is the presence and the evidence of the grace is results without struggle. No matter how much efforts one puts in, if there is no presence of God’s grace, it will be unproductive. Grace looks beyond your weakness, inabilities and personality but works through love.

What Peter and friends experienced was grace because they were sinful men, and unqualified by nature for such magnitude of miracles: but grace qualified them. Wherefore, the scripture said, “When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying. Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord” (Luke 5:8).

And so, grace found them and turned their story around. Outside grace was toiling but with grace was ease and productivity. Assuredly, grace qualifies the unqualified. Grace takes one from grass to glory, grace takes one from low life to higher life in Christ and grace lifts you up from zero to hero.

PRAYER
O’ Lord my God, I yield myself to you, through your grace help, I purge out those things that are corrupt and every junks from my life and from every iniquity in Jesus’ name, Amen
