BUILD YOURSELF UP

MEMORY VERSE: - Jude 1:20 - "But you, beloved, build yourselves up on your most holy faith; pray in the Holy Spirit"

There's a responsibility that's given to us in Christ, our growth in him is not only dependent on His ability but on us as well. Our heavenly Father made us to be people of choice, we're not robots nor zombies, we have to choose to achieve a height both in physical life and spiritual life. 

In life, strengthening your relationship with God is of uttermost important. You can't go further in life being in a stagnated place in your spiritual walk with God. Certainly, there's a great work for us to do in our spiritual growth, we have to deliberately build up ourselves. 

That's to say we have to grow from where we were when we first came to Christ to higher levels in him and so Peter admonish us, "But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen." 2 Peter 3:17-18 (RSV).

To build up yourself in faith doesn’t mean to become more religious. Building up yourself entails having deep relationship with God, by studying the Word, praying always, spending time together with Him in fellowship The scripture in 2 Timothy 2:15 says, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

Furthermore, Peter also admonished us, "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the Word, that ye may grow thereby" 1 Peter 2:2. There can be no growth outside the word. The more you take in the word, the more His word is increasing in you and the more you are changed into His image.


PRAYER

Father, Lord, fill me with the knowledge of your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to build up my faith and strengthen my relationship with you, in Jesus name, Amen.

But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day"   A lot of people pray but do not believe they can have the answer to their request immediately. Their faith is always in the future. The mindset of future has kept them from embracing that which is theirs at the moment. Thus, they neglect the place of faith in the now of today’s experience. While Martha could only think of the future as the only time her brother could rise again from the dead, Jesus was seeing it happening in the moment.
