HEARTFELT PRAYER OF THE RIGHTEOUS 2

MEMORY VERSE: - James 5:16 - “.... The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

In Part 1 we looked on Point #1, which is the "Heartfelt Prayer". Today we are looking at Point #2: "PERSISTENT PRAYER" that which KJV translated as Fervent Prayer is talking about persistent prayer. To be persistent is to press on, to put pressure on something, to work to achieve a goal even if it is difficult.

Furthermore, to be persistent is to be determined, it is to not quit nor give up until you achieve the desired result. It is to stubbornly continuing to do something.

And so, persistent in prayers is to continue to pray no matter what. Even if in the cause of your prayers the battle becomes more intense, you must not get discouraged nor quit praying but must pray more and keep praying.

This is where many are failing, they do not persist in prayers, they give up easily. Do you not know that the enemy of your glory will always fight back and will not want to let you go?

Just as Pharaoh pursued the Jews when they were leaving Egypt because he did not want to let them go: so also the enemy continue to fight you back because he does not want to let you go to become what God has destined you to be. And you must not let him have his way by giving up.

David wrote in 2 Samuel 22:38, “I have pursued my enemies and destroyed them; Neither did I turn back again till they were destroyed." David said he didn't give up until his enemies were consumed, finished off, eliminated, crush, conquered. This is a man of perseverance. Why should you turne back when you are not done yet? You must accomplish the mission and return back with victory report.

Listen, Jesus said "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.” (Luke 9:62). In order word, such people are not counted among the true children of God. Because every true child of God is exactly like their father in heaven and the Father does not stop until he has achieved his goal.

PRAYER

Father in heaven, honor to your name. This day I ask for grace to be persistent in prayers. I repent for my insensitivity to my commitment to prayers, Amen.
