SERVING GOD WITH CLEAR CONSCIENCE

MEMORY VERSE: - 2 Timothy 1:3 - "I thank God, whom I serve, as my ancestors did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers"

People comfortable do things of God with wrong motive. They do it without the fear of God, without conscience, they do it because they think God is not seeing it or He is weak to execute judgement on them.

What does it mean to have a pure conscience? It is to have right motives, to have pure hearts. It is to have a heart that is completely true to the Lord. When people are doing things out of selfish reasons and for their selfish gains and not really for the purpose of God, it shows that their conscience is impure.

It was said of a king in ancient Israel whose name was Amaziah that "he did what was right in the sight of Jehovah, yet not with a perfect heart" 2 Chronicles 25:2. And the Lord saw his heart that it was evil, selfish, wicked thus, his work was not accepted.

Conscience gives you the ability to evaluate your own thoughts and desires, to discern what is right and wrong, and to distinguish between what is good and what is best.

Paul said he served God with clear conscience: in order word, no wrong motive, no evil intentions, no greed, but was focus on building God's people and kingdom. His conscience only sought God. Anything that was outside God had no place in him.

Again in the Acts 24:16 he said, "I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and man." He put in efforts, he discipline himself, he put in his best in order to maintain a good Conscience before God.

The way to enjoying God's favour and abundance blessings is in serving with clear conscience. Our Lord Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure in heart” (Matt. 5:8). So, let us work on ourselves to be careful not to serve God with unclear conscience.

PRAYER

Thank you Holy Father for your word, I pray this day that you purify my heart from every evil motives. Help me Lord to serve you with a clear conscience in Jesus name, Amen.
