BUILDING UP YOURSELF


MEMORY VERSE: Jude 1:20 - “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.

Every believer needs to assume responsibility for their own spiritual growth. Everyone must put in efforts for personal growth and development. Wherefore, Jude made us to understand the importance of growing our spiritual life, he said we are to build on faith. 

To build something is to raise a structure, it is to construct something by putting parts or material together. It is to make something stronger or more intense. So, for us to build up ourselves, we need use some construction materials. Our beloved apostle Jude gave us some secret keys to our building.

1. FAITH

He said, to build on your most holy faith. Jude made us to see how precious our faith is to the project of spiritual growth. He said it is 'most holy'.

Our faith is a treasure, a virtue, it is something of great value and we must make proper use of it to build up the structure of our spiritual growth.

Faith is an important key we must put out for us to have a lasting structure in our spiritual life. Put your faith to work, activate the power of faith within you, do everything by faith. "For whatever is not from faith is sin." (Romans 14:23). Moreover, as God's children, "we live by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7).

2. PRAYING IN THE HOLY GHOST.
 
As believers, prayer is very sacred to us, we don't pray mechanically, we pray as inspired by the Holy Spirit. Paul in Romans 8:26 says "The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words" (NLT).

Also praying in the Holy Ghost talks about praying in the heavenly language. When you pray in an unknown tongues, your spirit is praying in partnership with the Holy Spirit and in so doing, you are being built up into a spiritual giant. 

PRAYER 
Father God, am really grateful for all you are doing iny life and family. This day I arise in faith and declare that it is well with my going out and coming in, in Jesus name, Amen.
