TAKE AWAY THE DROSS


MEMORY VERSE: - Proverbs 24:4 - “Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.”

Dross is a scum, a refuse or impurity on the surface of melted metal. It is anything insignificant, meaningless, worthless, and of no value. On the other hand, it is a covering that covers the beauty and glory of someone or something. Whenever there is dross in any life, that person will never be able to manifest the glory of God in his or her life.

Like a skin, it covers one’s true personality, it obstructs and hinders them from rising to the height that God destined for them, it stands as a coating, or an outer layer that covers its victim from being seen for glorification.

 You may have great plans or dreams but there may be some character, attitudes, or lifestyles in you that could get in your way of achieving them, those things are dross and you need to take them away that your life may count. 

Moreover, God wants to do great things in your life but they might be things in you that is obstructing and hindering it, so, take them away. Take away bad habit, take away wrong attitude, take away selfishness, then there shall come forth a vessel for the good Lord who is the refiner to use. He will be able to do what he purposes to do in your life. 

You must work on yourself in order to make your life count. Hence Paul wrote in Hebrews 12:1 "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us"

PRAYER 

Lord Jesus, for your word that builds me up into the person that you created me to be. By your spirit o Lord, I put out of my life every dross, I bring my character under subjection to your word in Jesus’ name, Amen

Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day"   A lot of people pray but do not believe they can have the answer to their request immediately. Their faith is always in the future. The mindset of future has kept them from embracing that which is theirs at the moment. Thus, they neglect the place of faith in the now of today’s experience.
