TRUE WORSHIP 1


MEMORY VERSE: - John 4:23 - “But the time is coming” He said, “and is already here when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for anyone who will worship Him that way.” 

In her encounter with Jesus, the Samaritan woman was made to understand that it takes more than playing religion to be a true worshiper. Indeed, today, they are people who are merely church goers and they are people who are true worshippers who worship the father and the son Jesus Christ from a pure heart.

When Jesus became a ransom for us, He automatically opened the way for true worship in spirit – “through the body of His flesh, He consecrated for us a new and living way” (Hebrews 10:20). The old system of worship was based on symbolic Ark of covenant, ritual law, and physical circumcision of cutting off the foreskin of male organ. Nevertheless, in this new and living way that Christ opened for us, we are “circumcised in our hearts” (Romans 2:29).

Here the foreskin of the hearts that are tinted with evil nature that causes us to do wicked works, doing the bid of the enemy and disobeying God’s Word, the evil nature that promotes wrong motives and wrong ambitions, are cut off by the power of the Holy Spirit so that we will be able to worship God from a pure heart. 

So, what then is true worship? It is a worship of faith without any physical object of image; it is a worship that flows from the heart, and it’s a spiritual worship that is guided by the Holy Ghost.

 True worshippers are people that are committed to God’s course and purpose; they are living sacrifices, wholly set apart to worship and pay allegiance only to the Father and His Son (Jesus Christ) through the indwelling Holy Spirit. For of such is the Father seeking for to worship Him.

PRAYER

Jesus, I love you, and I worship you from the depth of my heart. O Lord, teach me to worship from in spirit and in truth, help me to be a true worshipper in Jesus’ name, Amen

Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day"   A lot of people pray but do not believe they can have the answer to their request immediately. Their faith is always in the future. The mindset of future has kept them from embracing that which is theirs at the moment. Thus, they neglect the place of faith in the now of today’s experience. While Martha could only think of the future as the only time her brother could rise again from the dead, Jesus was seeing it happening in the moment.
