TRUE WORSHIP 3

MEMORY VERSE: - John 4:23 - “For God is a spirit, so those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24).

A lot of people are carried away by physical features, appearances, great structures and humanistic system of worship: that they do not to seek for true worship from a pure heart that is given to the truth. While men look at these things, God looks at the heart: for He is the searcher of every man’s heart. (See Jeremiah 17:10).

Therefore, true worship is not in the magnificent building, although it is good to have such befitting worship places for our God. True worship is also not in exciting music. True worship is in obedience to God’s instructions, it’s in submission to God’s will and it’s from a pure heart with a clear conscience cleansed from every wickedness.

And so, Jesus said that the _‘Father is not only to be worshipped in spirit but also in Truth'._ Truth is an important factor in our faith. We can’t separate Truth from Christianity. It is actually the real deal. What the Father requires from us is to have Truth stored up in us and to live out the truth. 

A true form of worship is from a true heart that is centered on the truth of God’s word. It is in doing that which pleases the Lord, it is in doing the will of God. Jesus said, “Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 7:21.

Today, most worshippers do not care about pleasing the Father but themselves. They only care about their selfish desires instead of things of God. As a result, they are not practicing the form of worship that God approves. So, let us yield ourselves to the Spirit of Grace to lead us into true worship in spirit and in truth.  

PRAYER 

Thank you, Lord, for your word that is the only truth. And this day I pray that you help me Lord to see the truth and to live only for the truth. Let my worship be breathed out from your truth within me in Jesus’ name, Amen

But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day"   A lot of people pray but do not believe they can have the answer to their request immediately. Their faith is always in the future. The mindset of future has kept them from embracing that which is theirs at the moment. Thus, they neglect the place of faith in the now of today’s experience. While Martha could only think of the future as the only time her brother could rise again from the dead, Jesus was seeing it happening in the moment.
