COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM

MEMORY VERSE: - Hosea 7:8 - “Stay away from fool, for you will not find knowledge on their lips”

In Hosea 7:8, the scripture made us to understand that “Ephraim was a cake not turned” which is talking about half-baked cake, a cake cooked only on one side. In the natural, a half-backed cake is a cake that is not well cooked, and such cake can only cause trouble in ones’ system. It will give a running stomach and make one very sick.

Why is Ephraim a half-baked cake? Because “he hath mixed among the people” {with the pagans, the heathens, the unbelievers}. Ephraim "mixed" himself among or with them thus became corrupted, the Psalmist in Psalm 106:35 said, "they were mingled among the pagan and learned their works"

God had forbidden all intermarriage (mingling, having things in common) with the pagan lest His people should corrupt themselves: nevertheless, they did what they wanted against God’s warnings, so they intermarried, and were corrupted.

Those who put themselves within the occasions of associating with bad company eventually gets corrupted and be out of God’s will for them. The people we hang out with really matters to our relationship with our heavenly father and affects us in life. Wisdom is disassociating oneself from bad companions because they lead to doing things not befitting with who one truly is in Christ.

If we associate with loafers, we will be influenced by them, if we hang out with drunkards, smokers, gossipers, we are most likely to become one of them. And if we make unbelievers our associate, we are most likely to lose our faith. Bad companionship can destroy your life, hinder you from living out your destiny, lock you out of your purpose and at the end waste you.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I thank you for your word, and I ask for your mercy and that you help me to stay off every bad company and to break out of every association with negativity in Jesus’ name, Amen.
