BORN OF INCORRUPTIBLE SEED

MEMORY VERSE: - 1 Peter 1:23 - "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible."

The scripture in John 3:6 says, "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit". Therefore, to be born again is to be born of the spirit. The natural birth is of corruption because it is from the sinful nature but the spiritual birth is pure, stainless and incorruptible because the spirit that begat us is pure and incorruptible.

Hence Peter declared in our memory verse that our new birth n Christ is "not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible." It is such that through this new birth, we have the incorruptible seed abiding in us, thus we have been made to be above sin. Yes sin have no more dominion over us.

The word corruptiable speaks about something subject to decay and perishable; or something of impurity. That which is born of flesh is subject to decay and impurity but as for the new creatures in Christ, the seed of the incorruptible God is in them and this seed cannot decay, perish or cease to exist. In order words it's value is eternal. 

God is holy thus His seed in us is holy as a result, we are holy; hence iniquity is subject to us, we are placed far above sin. Wherefore Paul wrote "For sin will not rule over you, because you are not under law but under grace." Romans 6:14 (CSB).

 Furthermore John said, "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God." 1 John 3:9. Thus it is an error for those of us who are in Christ to function in the level of the incorruptiable nature that has been done away with in Christ. When you corrupt something that is pure, you take away those qualities that makes it what it is.

PRAYER

Thank you heavenly Father for my new birth, am grateful to be in your divine family. Thank you for giving me your incorruptible seed. Now o' Lord, help me to live the incorruptible life, a life pleasing to you, in Jesus name, Amen.
