  REST IN CHRIST 2 MEMORY VERSE: - Hebrews 4:10 - "For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his." Outside of rest is frustration, toiling, struggling and making so much efforts with little or no results. To struggle is to put in so much efforts to do something, it is to Make one’s way with difficulty. The scripture in Eccl. 10:10. says, "If the axe is blunt, and one doesn't sharpen the edge, then he must use more strength" This is what struggling does, it makes one to operate with so much difficulty. They put in so much effort to achieve little thing and sometimes no achievement at all. Such was the case of Peter and his colleagues; they toiled all night yet, they had nothing. "And Simon answering said unto Him, “Master, we have toiled all the night and have taken" (Luke 5:5). Now, with what Peter said, it is obvious that they put in so much effort, they put in their best, they were committed to

God wants us to come to the place of rest in Christ, He wants us to live daily in a struggle free life. A place where we stop doing things with our human senses and allow His Holy Spirit to guide us and help us. When we are talking about rest, we are not talking about physical rest as in relaxing, sleeping or going on holidays. We also not saying one shouldn't work or do something in life. We do not encourage laziness, in fact , the scripture is against laziness and it encourages that all should work in order to eat (See 1 Thess. 4:11). So the rest we are talking about is that of putting our complete trust in God, believing and depending on Him to help us succeed in our work and achieve in life. And the LORD answered, “It is because of Saul and his bloodthirsty house, because he killed the Gibeonites.” Now, we were told of what David did when the situation of the Gibonites arose. It happened that a time came that Israel suffered from what Saul did 70 years back. Wherefore, our text tells us that famine took over the land for good 3 years. Each year they expect things to change for the better but instead, it got worse. I believe that during those years of famine, they must have done all manner of things to come out of it to no avail. The enemy does not want the good of God's children hence, he always look for occasion to bring reasons or cases before the Father against them. He continues to bring accusations of anything he could see in their life, from ancestry, from past errors or whatsoever he could see around them to accuse them before Jahovah God. Several times, most believers do not see the results or manifestation of their prayers because of the accuser of the brethren who day and night is bringing cases against them so as to stop or hinder their prayers. It will frustrate every of their efforts, make them live in the level of ashes, it will kill their dreams, goals, and potentials. It will make them worthless and voiceless. If you do not deal with a stronghold, no matter how great your destiny is, how bright your future may seem, how gifted or talented you maybe, you can't be anything in life.
